Meet Our Wealth Management Team Leaders
Bill Van Sant, CFP®, AIF®, CEPA®
Bill Van Sant joined C&N in May 2026 as Executive Vice President and Chief Wealth Officer. Prior to joining C&N, Bill spent more than 20 years with Girard, the wealth management division of Univest Bank & Trust Co. During his tenure, he served as a Managing Director of Wealth Management and as a member of the company’s Senior Leadership Team. Bill also served as Executive Director of the Univest Foundation, helping bring charitable organizations and donors together through the promotion of philanthropy.
Bill earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business Administration from Ursinus College in 2001. He is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional (CFP®), an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®), and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®). He also maintains FINRA Series 7, 24, 51, and 63 licenses.
Bill is passionate about helping clients achieve their financial goals and being there for them during the moments that matter most. He is equally committed to building high-performing teams united by a shared vision of delivering exceptional client experiences and helping one another grow.
Outside of work, Bill is actively involved in the community and currently serves as President of Deep Run Valley Sports Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing youth sports programs and opportunities.
Bill resides in Hilltown, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Amy, and their two children, William and Thomas. As a committed leader and community advocate, Bill looks forward to strengthening C&N’s wealth management business, enhancing the experience of its clients, and making a meaningful impact throughout the communities C&N serves.
James Butters, AIF®
In his 27-year career with C&N, James has worn many hats, starting as a management trainee back in 1999 and rising to his new post as Director of Wealth Management Operations. In this role, he’s responsible for all operational support for Wealth Management, coordinating with IT, and assisting with compliance oversight and retirement plan customer service.
James has a B.S. in Business Administration from Mansfield University, and is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary and Accredited Trust Operations Professional. When not at work, he enjoys being outdoors, golfs, gardens and spends time with his six children, four grandchildren and his wife, Kelly.
Philip Prough, CFP®, CIMA®
Philip is the Chief Investment Strategist and oversees the investment unit of the Trust and Financial Management Group. His responsibilities include the oversight of investment strategies, investment analysis and manager selections. Philip joined C&N in 2000. He was previously responsible for the delivery of C&N’s financial services, including the sales and service of Trust, Brokerage and Insurance services. He also retains administration duties for client accounts.
Prior to joining C&N, Philip’s experience at C&N, Prough Insurance Agency and Parente Randolph provided him with valuable skills and insight to lead his team to success at C&N. Philip’s driving philosophy is that “providing a deep, knowledgeable team gives our clients assurance that we have a sustainable support network to meet their changing financial needs. But it’s our personal service that demonstrates our clients will always be our primary focus.”
Philip is an honors graduate from Lycoming College, receiving his Bachelor's of Arts degree in Accounting. He received his Master of Business Administration from Colorado State University in 2012 and has held the designation of Certified Financial Planner® practitioner since 2003. He also holds various securities and insurance licenses.
Brian Tevlin, CFP®, CTFA
Brian J. Tevlin is a Wealth Advisor and Program Manager at C&N Investment Services. He has worked for C&N for 13 years, and has two decades of experience in the financial services industry.
A Liberty University graduate where he obtained his B.S. in Business Administration: Economics, Brian is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, holding his Series 6, 7, 24, 26, 51 and 63 securities registrations, currently with LPL Financial. Also a licensed Life and Health Insurance agent in both PA and NY, Brian specializes in overall financial planning and investment management at C&N Investment Services, building lasting relationships along the way.
Originally from Linden, NJ, Brian lives in Wellsboro today with his wife and daughter. When he’s not in the office putting clients on the fast track to financial prosperity, he loves spending time with his family, brewing his own beer, and staying active playing sports.
Keeping involved in the community is not only important to Brian and the team at C&N Investment Services on a professional level, but on a personal one as well. Brian serves as Director for Lycoming County United Way and Ossea Masonic Charitable Association. He is also Treasurer for Ossea Lodge No. 317 F. & A.M., as well as Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Coudersport.
James E. Morton, CTFA, ATFA
Ed Morton joined C&N in March 2026 as Senior Vice President and Chief Fiduciary Officer. With over 30 years in the Financial Services industry, Ed has been privileged to serve in a variety of leadership roles, including 17 years at Chemung Canal Trust Company as Senior Vice President, Regional Wealth Director and Regional Market Executive. Ed began his career in wealth management in Philadelphia, PA, where he held positions at Sovereign Bank (Santander) Private Client Services as Senior Vice President and Philadelphia Market Manager, Bank of America Wealth Management as Vice President and Team Leader, and BNY/Mellon Private Wealth Management as Assistant Vice President and Relationship Manager. After beginning his career in Wealth Management in Philadelphia, Ed returned to the Twin Tiers, where he has continued to build relationships, serve clients, and support local organizations.
Ed earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Cornell University in 1993. He holds the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation from the American Bankers Association Institute of Certified Bankers, as well as the Accredited Trust Fiduciary Advisor (ATFA) designation from Campbell University. Ed is passionate about serving the community and takes pride in sharing his fiduciary knowledge with clients and colleagues.
Ed’s commitment to community health and local development is reflected in his board service. He currently serves on the Boards of the UHS Hospitals Foundation and Tioga County (NY) Chamber of Commerce, and as Trustee and Treasurer of The Edwin A. Link Foundation. Ed previously served as Governor and Treasurer of the Binghamton Club, Trustee and Finance Commissioner of the Village of Owego, and Trustee and Treasurer of A New Hope Center. Ed is dedicated to supporting organizations that make a difference in the Twin Tiers region and welcomes new opportunities to collaborate with community leaders.
Ed resides in Owego, NY with his wife, Kari, and their four children, Grace, Jay, Will, and Lily. As a committed leader and community advocate, Ed looks forward to continuing his work to strengthen fiduciary standards and advance initiatives impacting our local communities.
Scott Clark, CMFC, CLTC, CTFA
Scott came to C&N Investment Services in 2020 with 25 years of financial services experience already under his belt. He has an Associate of Applied Science degree from the Pennsylvania College of Technology and graduated from the Graduate School of Retail Banking at the University of Virginia. In addition, Scott is Certified in Long Term Care, a Certified Mutual Fund Counselor and a Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow. He has Series 24, 7, 65 & 63 Securities Registrations, currently held with LPL Financial, and holds Pennsylvania Life, Accident & Health Licenses.
Scott is a former Liberty Borough Councilmember, has volunteered with a multitude of charities and enjoys outdoor sports with his wife and two daughters.
Ashley Miller, ChFC®
Ashley Miller serves as Wealth Advisor at C&N Investment Services, where she leads the firm’s wealth management efforts across the North Central PA region. With more than 18 years of experience in the financial services industry, she brings deep expertise in retirement planning, investment management, trust and fiduciary services, and insurance-based planning.
Ashley is passionate about delivering personalized, client-focused solutions that reflect C&N’s commitment to holistic wealth management. Her leadership plays a key role in building high-performing teams, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and expanding access to tailored financial advice across both established and growing markets.
Prior to joining C&N Investment Services, Ashley held senior leadership positions in wealth management, most recently as Senior Vice President and Sales Leader at F.N.B. Corporation. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Finance from Penn State University and holds the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designation from The American College of Financial Services.
Jim Foote, CRPS®
Jim Foote has spent more than three decades working with corporate retirement plans and assisted with the transition of more than 1,200 retirement plans in his career. Jim sees his role as a problem solver. From figuring out how help to make plans more efficient to looking for ways to ease their administration to tailoring aspects of a plan to individual's needs, he understands all the moving parts and how to bring them together to benefit a company and its employees.
Prior to joining C&N, he worked at Stonebridge Financial Group, focusing on the greater Philadelphia area. He also held positions as Vice President - Sales & Marketing at RetireWell Administrators, Inc, and spent 27 years at One America, where he rose to Regional Sales Director - Retirment Service. He began his career as a Retirement Sales Consultant at the Copeland Companies.
Jim graduated from the University of Dayton with a bachelor's degree in business management and marketing. He and his wife, Yvonne, have a son, Nolan and a daughter, Presley. In his spare time, Jim coaches Presley's travel softball team. Off the diamond, he enjoys traveling with his family and rooting for all of the Philadelphia's pro sports teams. Jim and Yvonne have given financial support to a number of cancer charities as well as volunteering for their children's parent-teacher organization at school.
Ben Howe, CTFA, MBA
A lifelong resident of Northcentral PA, Ben joined C&N in 2012 with a focus on retirement planning, estate planning, and investment management. He also provides insurance and financial consultation. Ben started as a Financial Consultant with C&N and has worked his way through Sr Financial Consultant to VP and Region Leader.
Throughout all these roles and experiences, Ben has cultivated a unique skillset that focuses on building relationships with his clients. “Every client has different needs and objectives; I enjoy the challenge and opportunity to find the right solutions for them.”
Ben earned his Bachelor of Business Administration and his Master of Business Administration from St. Bonaventure University. He is active in the community as a youth sports coach for baseball, softball, basketball, and golf. He volunteers for multiple nonprofits including Northern Tioga Education Foundation, River Valley Youth Golf, and others.
Holly Young, MBA, CFIRS®
Holly Young serves as Senior Compliance Officer for C&N Wealth Management, where she leads the department's compliance program and partners with executive leadership to ensure the organization operates in accordance with regulatory requirements, fiduciary standards, and internal policies. With nearly a decade of experience in wealth management operations, trust administration, executive support, and compliance, Holly plays an integral role in strengthening operational processes, mitigating risk, and supporting the delivery of exceptional client service.
Known for her collaborative approach and attention to detail, Holly works closely with advisors and leadership to develop efficient processes that enhance the client experience while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and operational excellence. She is passionate about building efficient, well-governed processes that allow advisors to focus on helping clients achieve their financial goals.
Holly earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Mansfield University and her Master of Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University. She has held the Certified Fiduciary Investment Risk Specialist (CFIRS®) designation since 2022.
A Wellsboro resident, Holly is an active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and serves as Secretary of the Wellsboro Alumni Association Board of Directors. She enjoys supporting initiatives that strengthen her local community and is committed to helping C&N deliver trusted, client-focused service.
