Janice WardJanice brings a depth of knowledge and expertise to the C&N team. She has over 35 years of management and leadership experience, most recently in the wealth management industry. As a licensed attorney in both Massachusetts and New York, Janice has worked primarily with trust and estate clients to assist with their estate and financial planning needs. Most recently, she served as SVP, Wealth Advisor & Senior Fiduciary Officer for Berkshire Bank Wealth Management in Lenox, Massachusetts, where she was responsible for business development and fiduciary oversight and also created and implemented its financial planning program. Prior to joining Berkshire Bank’s Wealth Management Group, Janice spent over three years as Vice President and Trust Officer with Greenfield Savings Bank Trust Department and, prior to that, served as Trust Officer for Legacy Portfolio Management in Pittsfield, MA. Janice received her Juris Doctor from Western New England University and her BSBA from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. She also obtained her designation as a Certified Financial Planner in 2012. While in Massachusetts, she co-founded the Berkshire County Estate Planning Council and served as its President until her recent move to Pennsylvania.

Janice resides in Wellsboro with her dog and cat. She also has a second home Berkshire County, MA where she can visit with her two adult sons and their wives, her grandchildren and her sisters and their families. In her spare time, Janice enjoys spending time outdoors by walking, hiking, boating, paddling or simply taking in the quiet beauty found only in nature.

Benjamin HoweA lifelong resident of Elkland, PA, Ben joined C&N in 2012. With a focus on Retirement Planning, Estate Planning and Investment Management, he also provides Insurance and Financial Consultation and holds Series 7 and 63 securities registrations. Prior to joining C&N, Ben held positions at Unifirst Corp as a Sales Representative and District Service Manager. He was also a Marketing and Sales Associate at JT International. Throughout all of these roles and experiences, Ben has cultivated a unique skillset that focuses on building relationships with his clients. "Every client has different needs and objective, I enjoy the challenge and opportunity to find the right solutions for them." 

Ben earned his Bachelor of Business Administration and his Master of Business Administration from St. Bonaventure University. He is an active volunteer for Relay for Live for the American Cancer Society and enjoys spending time in the outdoors. Ben resides in Elkland with his wife Mackenzie and his daughter Risley.

Brian TevlinBrian has been providing financial and investment advice to clients for 17 years. He graduated summa cum laude from Liberty University with a B.S. in Business Administration: Economics and a B.S. in Religion. As a licensed Series 7 broker and an Investment Advisor Representative, Brian holds several supervisory securities licenses and is a licensed life and health insurance agent in both PA and NY. Brian joined the C&N Trust & Financial Management Group in 2005 and has since gone on to earn the designations of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® practitioner as well as Certified Trust and Financial Advisor. He is on the Board of Directors for the Lycoming County United Way serving the Wellsboro Area, a Director for the Ossea Masonic Charitable Association and a member of Ossea Lodge No. 317 F. & A.M. Brian resides in Wellsboro with his wife Renée and their three children, Dylan, Ryan, and Rylie. 

Brian believes that building trust with his clients is a key ingredient to helping them achieve their long term goals. “One of the things I like best about how we conduct business with our clients is that we always strive to put their needs and concerns first. We do not attempt to sell a particular investment product or service because it is the hot pick of the day. We do our best to piece together the appropriate strategies that will help our clients achieve their financial goals.  By using this approach we build long lasting relationships with our clients that will benefit them and their families for many years to come.”

Darci BairdA testament to her experience and dedication to her clients, Darci Baird has established herself as one of the area’s leading Financial Consultants. With over 27 total years in the Financial Industry, Darci has cultivated a wealth of knowledge and expertise, providing her clients with the best financial services available. She has been with C&N for 11 years and is currently Vice President, Senior Financial Consultant and Certified Trust and Financial Advisor. Darci graduated from Mansfield University and The Cannon Financial Institute’s Trust School.

Committed to her community, Darci is actively involved in several organizations. She is the Vice President of the Athens Area School Board, Speaker and Spokeswoman for Susan G. Komen for the Cure Twin Tiers Association, Speaker and Advocate for the PA Breast Cancer Coalition and is also a Mentor for Hope. Darci and her husband, John, have two grown children and reside in Athens.

Deb ScottDebbie is a local industry veteran with extensive knowledge and expertise in all facets of financial planning. She is the Executive Vice President, Trust Department Director and Senior Trust Officer and has been with C&N since January 1998. Prior to joining C&N, she spent 17 years with First Citizens Community Bank. Spend any time with Debbie and her dedication to her clients is immediately obvious: “I consider the day to have been a success if I have been able to help an individual or entity make an informed financial decision.” 

Debbie holds her Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Foreign languages, French, from The King’s College and her Masters of Science degree in Financial Planning from The College for Financial Planning. She is also an ABA National Trust School graduate. Debbie serves as Treasurer of the Blossburg Memorial Library and is a member of the Guthrie Clinic Audit Committee. She and her husband, James, reside in Blossburg.

Josh SiversSince beginning his career in the Financial Industry in 2003, Josh Sivers has been cultivating his expertise into success at C&N. Currently, Josh is the Senior Retirement Plan Administrator at C&N in which he manages all employer sponsored retirement plan administration. Prior to joining C&N in 2014, he worked as an Investment Analyst and Mutual Fund Trader for First Savings Financial Services. Josh graduated from Lycoming College in 1999 with a B.A. in Communications, and earned his Masters of Business Administration from Bloomsburg University in 2001. 

Josh volunteers his time as a Coach with the Warrior Run Little League and Warrior Run AYSO. He lives in Watsontown, PA with his wife, Katharine, and his two children.

Larry AldersonLarry is a local industry veteran with extensive knowledge and expertise in all facets of financial planning. With over 20 years in the financial services industry, he has been with C&N since 1999 and is currently the Trust Sales & Services Manager, a role in which his personal goal of helping people is fulfilled day in, day out. He believes that “superior service” means getting to know our clients, understanding what is truly important to them, and helping them put a plan together to accomplish those very personal desires.

Larry is an Honor Graduate of Cannon Financial Institute, Trust Schools 1, 2, & 3.  He has also completed the College for Financial Planning Professional Education and the American Bankers Association Private Wealth Management School. In addition to holding the designation of both Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) and Certified Financial Planner practitioner (CFP), he also holds Security Licenses Series 7 – General Securities Representative and Series 63 – Uniform Securities Agent, as well as Life, Accident, Health and Property Casualty Insurance Licenses. Larry served as a member of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association Advisory Committee on Financial Planning from 2002 through 2004. 

Larry is known to be an exceptionally active member of his community. He was appointed and/or elected to Pike Township Board of Supervisors from 1992 through 2011. He is also an active member and Sunday School teacher of the Rome Presbyterian Church, Past President of Athens Rotary, a member of LeRay Lodge #471 F. & A.M., a member of the Financial Planning Association, and has been a member of the Finance and Investment Committee for the Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers since its inception in 2002.

Larry lives in rural Bradford County with his wife, Janet.  Their combined seven children are at various stages of independence.  The Aldersons love family-style fun, especially hiking and camping.

Marla McIlvainMarla McIlvain’s experience is a clear indication of her professionalism and commitment to her customers. She obtained her Associate’s Degree for Secretarial/Liberal Arts in 1973 from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School, and upon graduating began working for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the Cowanesque and Tioga-Hammond Lakes Project. She then went on to work for Owlett & Lewis, PC for 20 years and Wolfe Communications for five years. Marla joined C&N in January of 2003. While employed at C&N, she completed the Cannon Trust School in 2004.
In her personal time, she volunteers for the Wellsboro Chamber of Commerce assisting with the Laurel Festival Parade and is an active member of the Fellowship Committee at her church. In Marla’s own words: “C&N Trust and Financial Management Group is a “hidden gem” in our market area offering quality products and services for your lifetime and beyond at a reasonable cost.  We have honest, knowledgeable and caring staff that provides great personal service to all of our customers. Our staff is committed to helping our customers with planning and achieving their financial goals using the appropriate products.  Our professional team is well diversified offering expertise in many areas related to your financial needs and will meet in your home or business.  We are full service! I feel fortunate to be a member of this team.”

Matthew LandisWith more than seventeen years of industry experience, Matthew is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor and holds several Pennsylvania Insurance Licenses. He successfully completed programs through The Cannon Financial Institute’s Trust School and Retirement Sales School, as well as The Pennsylvania Bankers Association Trust School. Prior to joining C&N, he was employed by Gannon Associates and First Citizens Community Bank. 

To further expand upon his financial and estate management expertise, in 2014, Matthew earned his Certificate of Accreditation as a Professional Minerals and Royalty Asset Manager. With his accreditation, Matthew partners with area mineral owners to ensure their oil & gas ownerships are being managed properly. 

Matthew acts as coach and treasurer of the Canton Little League and also coaches Legion baseball. He and his wife, Laura, have four children and reside in Troy, Pa.

Mike joined the C&N wealth management team in early 2018 as a financial consultant in the South Region.  Prior to joining C&N, Mike worked as a financial consultant for Santander Bank and also with MetLife.  Mike is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and holds his Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses as well as his insurance licenses.

Philip ProughPhilip is the Trust Investment Manager and oversees the investment unit of the Trust and Financial Management Group. His responsibilities include the oversight of investment strategies, investment analysis and manager selections. Philip joined C&N in 2000. He was previously responsible for the delivery of C&N’s financial services, including the sales and service of Trust, Brokerage and Insurance services. He also retains administration duties for client accounts.

Prior to joining C&N, Philip’s experience at First Citizens National Bank, Prough Insurance Agency and Parente Randolph provided him with valuable skills and insight to lead his team to success at C&N. Philip’s driving philosophy is that “providing a deep, knowledgeable team gives our clients assurance that we have a sustainable support network to meet their changing financial needs. But it’s our personal service that demonstrates our clients will always be our primary focus.”

Philip is an honors graduate from Lycoming College, receiving his Bachelors of Arts degree in Accounting. He received his Master of Business Administration from Colorado State University in 2012 and has held the designation of Certified Financial Planner® practitioner since 2003. He also holds various securities and insurance licenses.

Sam has been with C&N since 2011 and is currently the South Regional Manager of Financial Services. Prior to joining C&N, Sam was a Wealth Manager at Wienken Wealth Management in State College. Sam graduated with honors in business administration from the Whittemore School of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire. Sam holds a Series 7 and 66 securities license as well as his insurance license.
