WELLSBORO, PA – Citizens & Northern Bank has contributed $25,000 to the Wellsboro Community Athletic Complex Campaign. The $5.4 million campaign seeks funding to create a state-of-the-art gathering place for students, athletes and local residents. The campaign is being sponsored by the Wellsboro Area Education Foundation in partnership with the Wellsboro Area School District.
Once complete, the complex will offer level playing fields, state-of-the-art playing surfaces, a modern track, durable new seating, sustainable lighting and scoreboards and ample parking. The complex will also house locker rooms for home and visiting teams. Community members will be able to utilize the new complex since all resources will be available to the community when they are not in use by the school district.
“The need for this new complex can’t be denied,” said Tom Rudy, C&N EVP and Director of Branch Delivery. “Time and changing regulations have taken their toll on the current complex. We need this not only for our student athletes, but for the community at large.”
“A community like Wellsboro, where pride runs deep and sports are an integral part of our lives, needs a facility like the new complex,” said Hal Hoose, C&N EVP/Director of Lending. “Citizens & Northern is pleased to have been able to make this contribution. We urge the community to support this project.”
