Precautionary Steps

Our bank offices are regularly cleaned and sanitized and our employees have always been encouraged to rest and recover at home when they feel ill. In addition, we've been sharing timely communications with our teams and have added the following precautions as well:

  • All customers who enter a C&N office will be required to wear a face covering. In addition, employees have been instructed to wear face coverings whenever they are in close proximity of other employees, customer-facing areas or customer-facing items.
  • Offering alternative work practices, such as working in shifts, placing greater distances between employees and remote, work-from-home options
  • Requiring employees to stay home if they are ill
  • Reminding the team about good hygiene and thorough hand washing practices
  • Encouraging virtual medical diagnoses to help employees avoid care facilities for basic needs
  • Increasing cleaning and sanitization of office spaces and surfaces
  • Providing additional leave with pay for certain circumstances, including parents of school-age children to help them as they put in place new care solutions
  • Providing disposable gloves
  • Discontinuing non-essential business travel, large events and meetings
  • Providing tools to conduct meetings remotely through telephone and online channels
  • Center for Disease Control and World Health Organization resources are being closely monitored for any change in recommended best practices or updated guidelines so we can keep our efforts in step with the best available information.

Safety Practices for Employee who has had Potential Exposure* to a person with Suspected or Confirmed COVID-19

  • It is essential the employee is asymptomatic.  To do this, prior to the employee entering the facility (at the door) the manager will be responsible for ensuring the employee does not have a temperature and ask the employee if they are experiencing any of the symptoms consistent with COVID-19 (fever, cough or shortness of breath). As long as the employee doesn’t have a temperature or symptoms, they should self-monitor and report any changes to their supervisor or HR.
  • The employee should wear a face mask (or cloth face covering) at all times while in the workplace for 14 days after last exposure. The employee can provide their own covering or request one from HR.
  • The employee should maintain 6 feet and practice social distancing as work duties permit in the workplace.
  • All employees should remain conscious of hygiene and clean and disinfect all areas such as offices, bathrooms, common areas, shared electronic equipment routinely or bring any concerns to the attention of the manager or HR. Remember that we are currently following enhanced cleaning and disinfecting practices at our facilities.  If you have specific concerns let us know.

*Potential Exposure is defined as being a household contact or having close contact within 6 feet of an individual with confirmed or suspected COVID-19. The timeframe for having contact with an individual includes the period of time of 48 hours before the individual became symptomatic.
