C&N's Giving Back, Giving Together Earns National Recognition for Standing Strong Against Cancer
WELLSBORO - C&N’s employee-led Giving Back, Giving Together program received an Honorable Mention in the Community and Economic Development category of the ABA Foundation Community Commitment Awards. This marks the third national recognition for the program and highlights the meaningful local impact driven by C&N teammates.
The recognition specifically honors Giving Back, Giving Together’s Standing Strong Against Cancer initiative, which united teammates across C&N’s footprint to support individuals and families impacted by cancer in their local communities. Through grassroots fundraising, volunteer efforts, and donation drives, teams partnered with local organizations to provide direct, meaningful support.
Through the Standing Strong Against Cancer initiative, C&N teammates:
• Raised $108,555 for local organizations and families
• Donated 2,127 essential items
• Volunteered 164 hours
• Supported 10 local organizations
Every dollar raised and every item donated stayed within the communities served by C&N, reinforcing the program’s mission of delivering local impact.
“This recognition reflects the compassion and dedication of our teammates,” said Brad Scovill, President and CEO of C&N. “Giving Back, Giving Together empowers our teams to identify needs in their communities and take action. The Standing Strong Against Cancer initiative is a powerful example of how local support can make a meaningful difference for individuals and families facing difficult circumstances.”
Since launching in 2015, Giving Back, Giving Together has continued to grow through employee leadership and community partnerships. To date, the program has:
• Raised $919,287.03
• Donated 45,526 essential items
• Volunteered 1,869 hours
• Supported 266 local organizations
As Giving Back, Giving Together celebrates its 10-year milestone, C&N teammates are now working toward an exciting goal of surpassing $1 million raised to support local communities.
“Giving Back, Giving Together is driven by teammates who care deeply about the communities they serve,” said Caitlin Hilliard, Senior Community Engagement Coordinator at C&N. “This recognition celebrates the impact of the Standing Strong Against Cancer initiative, but it also reflects the cumulative difference our teammates have made over the past 10 years. Being so close to reaching $1 million raised makes this moment even more meaningful and motivating.”
The Community Commitment Awards recognize banks across the country that are making significant contributions to community and economic development. C&N’s Giving Back, Giving Together program continues to stand out for its employee-led approach, local focus, and measurable impact.
As the program moves forward, C&N remains committed to strengthening communities, supporting local organizations, and empowering teammates to continue making a difference where it matters most.
