C&N Offices Collecting For Food Bank
October 30, 2013
WILLIAMSPORT, PA – Throughout November and December, Citizens & Northern Bank’s six Lycoming County offices will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank.
Collection barrels will be placed in each office beginning Monday, November 4th. The public is invited to visit any of the participating offices to donate food items to the food bank. Participating offices include:
- Jersey Shore – 230 Railroad Street
- Muncy – 3461 Route 405 Highway
- Old Lycoming – 1510 Dewey Avenue
- Ralston – 24 Thompson Street
- South Williamsport – 2 East Mountain Avenue
- Williamsport – 130 Court Street.
The collection is an annual event for C&N’s Lycoming County offices. “So many of our local residents are struggling trying to put meals on their tables” said Stacy Elliott, Old Lycoming branch manager. “Local food banks are seeing an increased demand as food prices continue to rise and unemployment remains high. We hope this collection will help the Food Bank during the holiday season and meet the needs of our local residents this winter.”
Serving 27 counties, the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank is the largest non-profit food distribution organization in central PA. The Food Bank solicits, inventories and distributes food and other donated products to more than 800 partner agencies (food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, etc.) that directly serve people struggling with hunger. During the past year, the Food Bank distributed more than 22 million pounds of food. That is the equivalent of 2.5 tractor-trailer loads of food distributed every day of the year.
