What are person-to-person payments?
Person-to-person payments like those made through PeoplePay are a digital cash alternative that make sending and receiving money as easy as emailing and texting. Whether it’s paying allowance, splitting the check, or sending a birthday gift, person-to-person payments allows you to quickly transfer money from your existing debit account to almost anybody else’s.
You initiate a payment from any device. Your recipient receives funds securely and almost immediately.

How to use PeoplePay
- Log in to your C&N online banking or mobile app
- From the Menu, go to Transactions > PeoplePay in your online or mobile banking application
- Enter your name, email address and debit card
- Enter recipient name and email address or cell phone number. You can also click on the contact icon to bring up your cell phone contacts from your mobile device.
- Enter your existing debit card PIN

You can quickly send funds to another individual simply by logging in to your online banking or mobile app and registering your debit card! When you are ready to send money, click on the transactions menu and select PeoplePay, you will then enter your recipient’s name and email address or cell phone number that can receive texts and the dollar amount to be sent. The recipient will receive a notification with a link which will prompt them to enter their debit card information to receive the funds. The system will verify if the receiver is able to collect the funds through their debit card or if it will need to be collected using their bank routing and account numbers.
Your recipient should receive the funds within just a few minutes of them filling out their information.
In order for the recipient to receive funds via their debit card, their financial institution must use one of the participating debit card networks (Star, NYCE, Pulse, Shazam, CU24, Xcel)
They will receive a direct deposit to their account in about 1-2 business days.
Yes. We take information safety very seriously. We highly recommend that you pay only people you know and trust.** Your recipient will be directed to a site that is secured using the proper safety protocols.
$1,500 per transaction/day. This amount counts against the daily Point of Sale withdrawal limit.
The recipient must collect the funds within 7 days. If the recipient hasn’t collected their funds in that timeframe, the funds will be re-deposited to your account by the 10th day.
No, the recipient only receives an email/text notification that you are sending them funds.
No, PeoplePay is strictly for C&N consumer debit cardholders.
Yes, the PeoplePay system uses a secure PIN pad scramble, which mixes the numbers up on the PIN pad each time you are entering a digit of your PIN.

PeoplePay does save the recipients contact information. However, the recipient will need to enter their debit card information each time you send them funds.
